Notes:
The boys came up with a strong game against a hard-hitting Melrose team. The whole team came out to play and everyone skated hard. Mark opened the scoring at 3:14 of the first period, assisted by Brett and Brad. Melrose managed to score just over a minute later to tie the game going into the second period. Matthew scored an unassisted goal at 9:44 of the second period to put us up 2-1 going into the third. Determined efforts on the part of Melrose got them one more goal at 10:44 of the third to tie it up, and despite lots of chances we were not able to put the puck in the net until the last minute. Mark scored an unassisted goal with just 52 seconds left to win the game. The win was a total team effort with all the boys contributing, and Dan had his best performance in the net this year, making some fabulous saves to back up the team. |
