Notes:
In a rematch of the first round of the playoffs, we tied a strong Heritage-Victoria team 2-2 in our first game of the tournament. The opposition opened the scoring at 6:53 of the first and Brendan, on loan from the VV12A2 team, tied it up at 9:11 of the first, with assists to Mark B and Jarrell, another player on loan from VV12A2. Heritage-Victoria took the lead again at 5:35 of the second period. With just 11 seconds left in the game, on a power play, Mark B scored the tying goal with an assist by Louis, who made a great pass from his knees after taking the puck almost all the way to the net before he was hauled down, and from Brendan, his second point of the game. Taylor came up huge in the net, making several key stops to keep the game within reach, and earned the player of the game award for his efforts. On a sad note, we have lost Brad for the rest of the season. He suffered a separated shoulder and sat stoically on the bench until the end of the period so as not to disrupt play. |
