Posted Nov 17/12 - Chippy Game
The Oil Kings travelled out to Glengarry for an away game against the KC Sabres. The Kings got out to a rough start giving up an early goal in the first period but a few minutes after that; they stormed back with two unanswered goals to secure the lead going into the intermission. The Sabres tied it up 2-2 in the second with a goal coming at 16:14 from #10. After the KC goal in the middle of the second, the game started getting a little out of hand. The Kings score two goals back to back but both got waved off after the referee supposedly blew the whistle before the puck crossed the line. After that event occurred, the game started to get chippy with lots of penalties going both ways coming in the second and early in the third period. Late in the third, Oil Kings D-man Zach Handzuik had a bullet from the point which beat the KC goalie blocker side to give them the lead and the road win making it a 6-1 first round record.

It was a sloppy start for the Kings but thanks to the amazing goaltending by Graeme Allin, the boys were able to get it together dominating the last half of the second and the whole third period. Zach Handzuik and Scott Kramers fell short on the points column tonight with many opportunities throughout the game and still had nothing to show for it.
