With his team down 17 points after 3 quarters Friday night, Coach Hicks was already thinking about practice Saturday morning. Luckily, the team had another plan. Behind great team defense and a furious offensive attack, the Knights mounted a rally. Amin Abuhawwas (25 points) made 2 free throws with 1.4 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. Connor Baker and Abuhawwas made a combined 7 free throws in overtime to lead the Knights to 71-69 victory over visiting James River. |

Amin Abuhawwas recorded a career high 26 points helping the Knights to 63-48 season opening win over visiting Wm. Byrd. Aaron Cupp scored 12 points including 2 first half three-pointers. |

The pairing for the 1st round of the 2011 K-Guard Hoopla Tournament have been set. The annual holiday tournament features 5 local teams and 3 teams from out of the Roanoke area. This years tournament will be held December 28-30. The Salem Civic Center continues as the venue for the tournament. |

| Our fall workouts have begun. Practice is being held Monday and Wednesday from 7:15-9:30. On Fridays our conditioning workout starts at 3:45. |

Cave Spring won the RRD Tournament beating Christiansburg 59-42 @ Roanoke College. The Knights got of to a quick start in front of a large crowd. Josh Henderson scored 13 points in the first quarter as the Knights led 20-4 with less than a minute to play in the quarter. |

For the 2nd straight year Cave Spring played for the Regular season RRD championship. After winning it in 2009, the Salem Spartans defeated the Knights 44-40 in overtime to claim the regular season title. |

Hager finished the game with a season high 15 points on 5 of 7 shooting from beyond the 3 point line. |
