| West Fargo Stampede Mite Hockey Tournament
Date: Feb. 7-9, 2014 Location:
Veterans Arena (Vets 1 and Vets 2) 1201 7th Ave E, West Fargo, ND 58078
Team Check In:
Check in will be 1 hour before your first game played in the lobby of Vets 1 arena.
Tournament Format:
18 team tournament with a 3 game guarantee.
Tournament rules:
We will be playing rules adopted by the NDAHA and USA Hockey. Please be familiar with these rules. The rules include running time on the clock if there is a six goal lead or more in the third period. The clock will be stopped only for an injury or for penalties to be placed on the clock and resumed to run time after the dropping of the puck. If during the third period, the goal spread becomes less than six goals, stop clock will be resumed. Penalties will remain the same no matter if the clock is stop time or run time.
Period Length:
All games will be 15 minutes stop time periods. If tied after 3 periods there will be a two minute rest followed by a five player shoot-out. If still tied, there will be a sudden victory shoot-out. Visiting teams will go first in all shoot-outs and all players must be used at least once before a player can participate in the shoot-out a second time.
Team Jerseys:
The team listed on the top of the bracket will be HOME team and should wear the light colored jerseys if available.
Resurfacing of ice:
The ice will be resurfaced after every two periods. The warm-up will not constitute a period. Warm-up time will be five minutes which will start on the clock when both teams reach the ice.
Warm up pucks:
Pucks will NOT be provided for warm ups. Please provide your own pucks for this
Locker Room Assignments:
Locker room assignments are listed on the video screens located in the lobby of both arenas, please pay attention to your game number…. That will be how lockers are assigned on Saturday and Sunday.

Park River Red Machine begins defense of Squirt International title Friday
Park River Red Machine Squirts begin the grind to defend their title as Squirt International Champs Friday at 11:30 am. The Red Machine play the Des Moines Jr. Buccaneers AA team at the Armstrong SW arena in Fargo. This is the 1st game of the 5 game tournament which proves to be a battle of attrition. In order to make it to the Championship game at the UP Center Sunday, the Red Machine will need to win four games before losing . Des Moines Jr. Bucs are not strangers to Red Machine Hockey as these teams have meet twice before at the Squirt I with The Red Machine winning both previous contests. There are rooms held at the Holiday Inn Express Minot for Saturday night the 27th of November. We play in Williston Sat afternoon and in Minot Sunday morning. They are single king rooms and are held under GPR Hockey Bantam A and PeeWee A and under Michelle Janikowski. She held some separately from me. It is the weekend after Thanksgiving and rooms were very difficult to come by. The release date for the GPR block is the 13th. You must call individually to confirm the room under your name. If you confirm one of Michelle's they will transfer it to your credit card. THANKS TO ALL!, All is up and running in the PR Rink. The practice slots will be the same for PR Squirts,Mites and Termites. Have not heard from the figure skaters yet to see if they wish to remain in the same time block. As soon as I get the concession schedule I'll post it. Now is the time to check all the kids gear. If you are missing any items, post your needs on the forum to see if anyone has the skates, helmet. shinpads, etc. that is needed. |

GPR HOCKEY, N.D.------- February 5, 2011 With only 2 weeks or so left in the race to the North Dakota Bantam and Pee Wee States tournament titles, all 4 GPR teams are not where they need to be. With Grafton hosting the Pee Wee B1 State, the GPR Pee Wee B's are trying to stop the slide. At the beginning of the season the GPR Pee Wee B's were thought to be following the path set by the 2009-2010 team, but 1st year coach Gus Thompson cleared the slate and rallied the troops. The GPR Pee Wee B's went on a winning tear and solidified themselves as a State title contender. Recent 1 goal losses and the loss of Forward Jelinek have but the brakes on the run. GPR Pee Wee B's need to move up 1 spot as they sit in 4th place. With 4 tough league games upcoming, the Pee Wee B's travel to GF to play the Mustangs today, then get Langdon at home on Sunday, a team they thought they should have beaten in Langdon. They host the GF Thunder at Chris Midgarden Arena next Sunday where the cold home sheet should play to GPR. The away game in Mayville the 19th is one I'm sure Coach Thompson has set his sights on most of the year after the Pee Wee B's let one get away at the Centennial when Mayville scored to tie it with less than 2 minutes, and won it with seconds left.
It is hard to believe that the GPR Pee Wee A's are still in the running. Sitting in 5th place in the North, the Pee Wee A's are one loss from A2. This weekend games vs Minot Saturday at the Centennial and the GF Seawolves on Sunday should spell out the rest of the season. The Minot game is a test to see which team has improved after the early season game in Minot where GPR Pee Wee A's lost a one goal game. A win vs Minot will keep the fire going for a day at least. Sunday will be a heavy lift when GPR Pee Wee A's will attempt to stop the best player in the state, if not region, Matt Christian of the Seawolves. A lot of things can still happen since GPR Pee Wee A's beat the Golden Eagles last week 4-1 at the Centennial. Then the Golden Eagles went to Devils Lake and again tied 3-3. Thursdays game at Chris Midgarden against Devils Lake will be the most important game of the year if the A's can split this weekend. A win in GF vs the Golden Eagles next week and the light might get a bit brighter. GPR Pee Wee A's, a 10-16 team on life support, but still a chance.
