FIRST PERIOD

The first was very quiet, not too many scoring chances on both ends, the score 

ended up dead locked at 0 – 0.

The Riels outshot the Jets 9 – 4. Both goal tenders Connor Bell for the Riels and 

Luke Sirant for the Jets made key saves and kept it close.

The Riels killed off two power play chances that the Jets had.

SECOND PERIOD

The line of Brian Dies, Brett Charette and Russell Trudeau started off the Riels with 

two quick goals, twenty-three seconds apart at 7:22 when Brian Dies scored on a 

quick shot high in the slot that beat net minder Sirant cleanly. The assists came 

from Trudeau and Charette.

Then at 7:45, Dies finished off a three way passing play from Trudeau and Charette.

The Riels totally dominated the second frame but only had two goals to show for 

it. A late goal at 17:15, Johnson scored for the Jets from Meilleur with the period 

ending 2 – 1 Riels. Riels outshot the Jets 12 – 9.

THIRD PERIOD

In the third, it was the Russell Trudeau show firing three in a row for the Riels.

The first goal came at 1:21 on a nice passing play from Charette and Dies.

Then 28 seconds later at 1:49, Trudeau buried another from Charette and Dies. That 

made it 4 – 1.

The Jets tallied one at 2:52 scored by Miskiewicz with assists from Sholdice and 

James.

Trudeau completed the hat trick at 6:59 with an assist coming from Gorrie. At 10:10 

of the third, Brian Michiels tallied for the Riels with assists from Michael Gorrie and 

Ryan Wilgosh. That’s the way it finished off 6 – 2 Riels. The Riels outshot the Jets 

16 – 9 in the third and final shots were 37 – 22 Riels.
