Riels 5 vs Canucks 2  Saturday January 18, 2014

FIRST PERIOD

Riels opened the scoring at 16:10 when Brian Dies scored his 22^nd of the season on a power play with assists coming from Brett Charette and Russell Trudeau.  Then on another power play at 18:38, league leader Brett Charette scored his 21^st of the season with assists coming from Ryan Wilgosh and Sean Christensen.  Riels lead was 2-0 after the first period.  Riels outshot the Canucks 11-6.

SECOND PERIOD

Only one goal was scored in the second period.  Riels Brian Dies scored his 23^rd goal of the season and second of the night with assists coming from Brett Charette and Travis Ziprick.  Riels out shot the Canucks 10-8.

THIRD PERIOD

Canucks got on the score board on a scramble in front of the Riels net when Canuck leader Cam Fehr scored his 26^th of the season on the power play with helpers coming form Winchar and Josephson at 4:54.  It was 3-1.  Riels power play went to work again at 8:46 when Russell Trudeau scored his 28^th of the season with assists coming from Brett Charette and Ryan Wilgosh.  That made it 4-1 Riels.  Canucks battled back at 10:35 when Tyler Arnason scored his 10^th with assists coming from Lockhart and Dyck.

Riels finished off the game at 14:54 when Russell Trudeau scored his 29^th of the season and second of the night with assists coming from Brett Charette and Brian Dies.  The game ended 5-2 Riels.

The Riels out shot the Canucks overall 29-23.  That was the Riels 28^th win of the season.
