SECOND PERIOD

There was no scoring in the second period.  Each team had one power play chance each.  Twisters out shot the Riels 18-13.  Both teams had chances throughout, but both goalies came up big.  Riels played a solid defensive game.

THIRD PERIOD

Twisters tied the contest at 3-3 at 8:48 when Grenier scored his 21st of the season from Chabbert and Chanel.  Then it was Russell Trudeau picking up the puck off the boards in the corner coming in and buried the puck bar down beating Grossmueller for his 31st of the year with help from Brett Charette and Sean Christensen. This sparked up the Riels.

Brian Michiels at 14:16 scored his 22nd goal and second of the night unassisted to make it 5-3 Riels.  Once again, Sean Christensen scored his 11th of the season in an empty net at 18:12.  The Riels were not finished with league leading goal tender Grossmueller.    Artur Raevskiy finished off a beautiful play at 19:20 of the third beating the goalie top cheddar with assists coming from Brock Bram and Mike Riffel.  That ended the game 7 to 3 Riels.  Big win for the boys.  Riels out shot the Twisters in the third 18-13 and overall 47-43.  Riels played a solid two way hockey game.  Riels goal tender, Ryan Brown had a great game stopping 40 shots.  This was Riels 30th win of the season.  Riels next game will be Sunday, January 26th at home vs. Twins at 2pm at Southdale CC.  Come and see the highflying Riels.
