The 8th Grade Combined Football Team took 2nd place in the MidWest Football Championships held at Chula Vista in Wisconsin Dells. 

The Bulldogs played a near perfect game against the Mt Horeb/Barneveld Vikings.  The Bulldogs were up 32-0 in the fourth quarter before giving up two touchdowns.  Sam Matthiesen, Tyler Davis, and Joey Corrao led the defensive charge with three tackles a piece.  Ben Kinowsi and Tony Gammon added 2 1/2 tackles each.  Also playing great defense was Connor Fahey and Mitch Ortlieb who had each had pass deflections.  Ortlieb recovered a fumble caused by Bennett Gilsinger.  Jordon Ziebell and Davis each had a quaterback sack. 

Michael Barnes orchestrated led an offense that was unstoppable.  The offensive line of Derek Maxwell, Jacob Merkel, Andrew Poenitsch, Brad Biswell and Jack Reider opened up holes all day.  Bennett Gilsinger, Sam Matthiesen and Joe Corrao each scored touchdowns.  Barnes completed four passes for 74 yards while Jack Geels connected on a 38 yard pass with Alex Marx for a touchdown.

The Bulldogs faced a tough Menomonee, MI Hornets football team in the Championship Game.  The Bulldogs fell 40-6, but played hard all game.  Ben Kinowski led the rushing attack with 77 hard fought yards.  The Bulldogs lone score came on a beautiful Michael Barnes pass to Bennett Gilsinger for a 42 touchdown. 

The defense was led by Joey Corrao who had 9 tackles.  Ryan Hernandez and Tony Gwinn had three tackles of their own.  Jordan Pintor recovered a fumble.  The Bulldogs walked away with their heads held high as they had given everything they had.
