Barry Lewis Cornwall : August 13th 1944 - October 16th 2010

At the age of 66, Barry Lewis Cornwall, born in Abbotsford has succumb to his battle with cancer. Barry passed away peacefully in his Vancouver home surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Vickie, son Jason, daughter Rachel and son in law Andrew.
Barry lived life to its fullest and was very active in the community. He was a member of the Oldsmobile Car Club, Cadillac Car Club, and the Victoria Fraserview/Killarney Community Visions Program. Previously he was the President of the Vintage Car Club of BC as well as Allied Credit Union. He was an avid 5-pin bowler and adored coaching in the Youth Bowling Council. Barry was also recently recognized for over 25 years of service at the Vancouver Minor Baseball Association.
Barry was a loving Husband, a loving Father, and a great friend. He will always be missed and will forever be in our hearts.

2015 Barry Cornwall Mosquito Tournament

TOURNAMENT FORMAT:

  1. Tournament will consist of 5 teams in round robin format within 1 pool.  Points for these games will be awarded 
  2. Points will be awarded as follows: 2 points for win, 1 point for a tie, 0 points for loss
  3. The two teams with the most points at the end of the round robin games will play in the Championship Game. 4) Ties will be broken in the following order:
    1. Plus-Minus from all games played
    2. Runs Allowed Ration (runs allowed divided by half innings played on defense) c.       Coin Toss by Director

5) Maximum Runs per inning will be as follows:

  1. 2 runs maximum in the 1st and 2nd innings
  2. 3 runs in the 3rd inning
  3. 4 runs in the 4th and 5th innings
  4. 10 run max in the 6th inning/last inning
  5.  6) No new inning will be started after 2 hours

 

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY

  1. Maximum roster size is 14 players
  2. All teams must submit a copy of the teams official roster to the tournament office 30 minutes before their first game
  3. Teams may be able to pick up a maximum 4 players for this tournament.  The players must be from your own Association from the same tier or lower
  4. Any “pick up” players must wear their own team uniforms and must be declared when submitting your rosters.  Failure to do so will deem the player ineligible to compete
  5. Pick up players may play any position.  
  6. Pick up players, who play in the Mosquito Tier are eligible to pitch.  Players who play in the Tadpole division are NOT eligible to pitch.
  7. No players shall sit for 2 consecutive innings barring injury.
  8. All players must play in the infield for at least 2 innings.
  9. Any player or team official ejected from a game shall be suspended from their teams following game, unless further suspension is decided by the tournament director.

 

TOURNAMENT RULES:

  1. ALL RULES OF BC MINOR BASEBALL ASSOCIATION THAT DO NOT CONFLICT WITH THIS DOCUMENT SHALL APPLY
  2. The “first-year” pitching rule has been removed.  Any Mosquito aged player can pitch in the first two innings
  3. “Mercy Rule” is in effect  (10 runs as per BCMBA)
  4. All teams shall report to the Tournament Director at least 30 minutes prior to the start of their first game and provide a roster of players showing clearly their pick up players.
  5. Home team is the first team listed on the attached schedule and will occupy the 3rd base dugout
  6. The Home Team is the official scorekeeper (including Pitch Count).  The visiting team can use their own scorekeeper, but in case of discrepancy the Home Team scorebook will be considered the official and correct.
  7. Any breach of the tournament or pitching rules may result in the forfeiture of that game and/or the next game no matter when the breach is discovered.

 

 

 

  1. In the case of a protest, the game shall be stopped immediately and a decision shall be rendered by the Director, who may seek advisors. 9) Pitch Count is as follows:
    1. 1-25 pitches = No Rest
    2. 26-40 pitches = 2 nights Rest iii. 41-55 pitches = 3 nights Rest
    3. iv. 56-65 pitches = 4 nights rest
    4. v. 66-75 pitches = 5 nights Rest
    5. vi. 75 MAXIMUM PITCHES PER DAY
  2. Pitch count is recorded after every game.  If a pitcher requires rest after the first game, he/she cannot pitch in the second game in the same day.
  3. If a pitcher has two appearances in the same day, his total pitch count for the day is combined for the purpose of rest.
  4. A pitcher is permitted to exceed the maximum daily limit (for a day) to complete pitching to a batter
