Brewers Survive Edina Rally - Win 6-4 The Brew Crew traveled to Edina to take on the White Sox in non-league action Wednesday night. Tony Paggen started on the bump and went 7+ innings ,giving up 3 runs. A very efficient game against a potent lineup. Scott Wawrzyniak came in and got the Brewers out of the 7th, but ran into some trouble in the 8th. Ryan Grams got the Brewers out of the jam, and the bats struck for 3 more runs in the top of the 9th to take a 6-3 lead. Edina threatened, and the game ended on a bases loaded fly ball to centerfield, Brewers win 6-4. Brian Knight made his debut and picked up right where he left off last year, stealing bases, scorching the ball all over the park, and causing chaos on the base paths. Good luck in L.A. BK. Marc Wawrzyniak had another nice night, along with Grant Growchow and Tony Paggen. The bottom half of the order always seemed to be on the basepads, and Grant stole 2nd, and had 3rd stolen also, but Marc missed the ball (a nice way of saying you struck out Marc :). Tony Beringer was forced to catch all 9 and had a solid night at the plate. Jorrin "Juice" Pautz was a vacuum at short stop, and put down a solid sacrafice bunt. A great team effort to get a win against a solid Edina team. "Brewie Awards" "Sorry Blue Award" - This isn't a reference to "Blue" from Old School. He died, that's what old people do...this award of "Sorry Blue" goes to Tony Beringer for letting a Tony Paggen curve ball get through the wickets, and catch the umpire right where the sun usually doesn't shine, unless you are on a nude beach :) Nice Job Tony! "Clu Haywood Award" - This goes to our Skipper Nate Gorr. Did anyone else see the damage he was doing in the batting cage? He looked like his baseballs were headed towards South America! However, Nate does not lead the league in nose hairs, he is NOT a party favor when he sneezes...Hey, Congratulation Nate! |
