Game Notes: Brewers come up short again at St. Boni on Sunday. Both teams hit the ball well each pounding out 11 hits. Errors were again the kryponite for the Brewers as the St. Boni Saints took full advantage of 3 Brewer errors along with walks and hit batsmen.

Offensively the Brewers had several chances but again left runners on base thoughout the game. Adam Jacobsen of the Saints seemed to pitch his best with runners on base, totally nine strikeouts and stranding nine baserunners.

Recap: St. Boni started off the scoring in the bottom of the first on a walk, stolen base, followed by a two out RBI double by the Saints' catcher Nick Busch.

The Brewers answered back in the top of the 2nd inning when CF Tony Paggen worked back to a full count and eventually walked. Paggen was on base three times, each time working the count in his favor and having good at-bats. After a wild pitch by Jacobsen Marc Wawrzyniak sacraficed Paggen to third and Ryan Style drove Paggen in on a sacrafice fly to centerfield.

St. Boni took the lead right back in the bottom of the 2nd inning on a hit batsman, double, Brewer error, and eventually a single plating the third run of the game for the Saints.

The Saints tallied one more run in the bottom of the third on a hit batsmen followed by an RBI double by Saints third baseman Greg Grand.

St. Boni went up 4-1 in the fourth when Saints second baseman led off with a double, was sacraficed to third, and came home on a Brewers error on the infield. Stephen Wiblemo spelled John Thell and got out of the inning without any further damage.

The Brewers got one back in the top of the fifth when shortstop Jorrin Pautz led off with a single and eventually switched spots with Josh Kraby on the basepads thanks to a fielders choice. A John Thell single moved Kraby to second and he came around to score on a double down the first base line by Brad Hundt. Jacobsen then was able to get Wiblemo to ground into a fielders choice and retire Scott Wawrzyniak on a groundball to third base. S. Wawrzyniak was 0 for 3 in his first three at bats stranding 6 runners on base.

St. Boni plated their final run of the game in the bottom of the seventh when they strung together three two out hits.

Glencoe chipped away again in the 8th inning when Scott Wawrzyniak led off with a double and moved up to third on a Jacobsen wild pitch. Marc Wawrzyniak then drove his older brother in with a groundout to second base.

The Brewers mounted their final rally in the top of the ninth when Kraby singled with one out, followed by a sharp single to right centerfield by Thell. Kraby advanced to third by Thell got hung up between first and second and was thrown out trying to get back to first base. Brad Hundt then drove in his second run of the game on a single. Jacobsen then promptly retired Wiblemo, getting him to hit a lazy popup to the second basemen to end the Brewers hope of a comeback and leave the Brewers still looking for their first win of the young season.

Both teams again pitched well with Jacobsen making more key pitches in key situations in the game.

The bright spot of the day for the Brewers was the hitting as they broke out of a slump slugging 11 hits including two hit games by Paggen, Kraby, Thell, and Hundt.
