Background

Jack Short loved amateur sports, especially baseball. He participated both as a player and a coach. From childhood on, he believed in playing fair and well, winning many awards. He died at age 37 on August 23, 1991 in a motor vehicle accident near Kamloops BC on his way to play in a slowpitch tournament. We celebrate his contribution to Ridge Meadows Minor Baseball and share in the ethic that he lived by with this annual tournament that began in 1992.
