The Flagler Bandits have split thier first two games in the Nations of Orlando baseball tournament on Saturday 4/18. The Bandits dropped game one to the Ormond Beach Spikes 9-0. The offense sputtered with only one hit and the defense committed too many errors turning a close game into a blow-out.
In game two the Bandits fared much better beating the Lady Lake Longhorns 7-3. Carson Coffey provided two hits and two RBI's and Charlie Alfano smoked an RBI triple. Started Andrew Butler lasted 3 innings for the win, and Riley Clymer closed it out for the save.
Update: 4/19/15, Game 3 vs. 5th seed Ancient City Pirates. The Flagler Bandits had earned the 4th seed of the "Fun in the Sun" baseball tournament. The Bandits dropped the quaterfinal game vs the Pirates 11-1. Starter Carson Coffey got off to a slow start but worked out of a bases loaded jam in the first without giving up a run. Our defense and some timely Pirate hitting led to the busting open of the game. Avery Throne drove in the only Bandit run with an RBI single to right.
Next up for the Bandits a double-header vs. the PV Thunder and AC Pirates on Saturday 4/25.
