Baseball Alberta confirms fees for 2011

Baseball Alberta has confirmed that joining the group and being covered by insurance, which opens the league up to more umpires who only agree to umpire sanctioned games, will remain the same cost in 2011 as it was in 2010.

Teams are required to pay $50 while the league pays $200 for the season. Baseball Alberta requests rosters submitted and are updated by the league to keep current coverage for all players.

Last year, the league re-entered Baseball Alberta after several years away so they could use a group of umpires from Sherwood Park in some centres.

For a six-team league, the total cost is $500, approximately $85 per team.

The league will look at the issue at their spring meeting to determine the value and if they will continue with the affiliation in 2011.
