Experience:

Chicago Cubs Minor League Organization 1996 to 2000:

Played at, Pitt Junior College in North Carolina. I was the Chicago Cub's 24th pick of the 1996 MLB amateur draft. After returning to school, signed with the Cubs in 1997. I played four years in the organization, reaching the AAA level.  I excelled at hitting, outfield and base-stealing as a player.

Saguaro High School – 2006 – 2010

Coronado High School – 2010 - 2011

Chaparral High School - 2012 -2013

Executive Director of the Arizona Wildfire Baseball Nonprofit Organization 2005 to Present:

My primary task is to evaluate the athletic skills of high school and college athletes to determine their fitness and potentiality for high school and college baseball programs and communicate with them to obtain specific services, then reports to high school and colleges on their development.

 

  • Coach Daniel Contreras

Daniel Contreras, a valley native, is a former minor league player with the Brewer’s organization and has been coaching for over 20 years. Currently, he coaches for the AZ Wildfire at various levels. He specializes in hitting fundamentals, power hitting and what it takes to be mentally ready for the game. Coach Contreras specializes in young player development, but also takes pride in preparing the older players for the next level.

Mission:

My main objective is to mentor the players on how to be a responsible and courteous person, both on and off the field.  Additionally, I am committed to helping your son or daughter to become the best player they can be and giving them all the tools it takes to play at the next level.

Assistant Coach in High School

Coronado High School 2012 to Present

 

Went to school at St Pauls College in Lawrenceville Virgina where he transferred back to North carolina to play at Southeastern College. Coach then finished up his college baseball at St Charles Community College, went on to play independent baseball in Maryland for the Washington Printers,  he has excelled at all aspects of the game, he is a great teacher and winner. Don coaches the younger athletes in the organization to help prepare them for competitive play. His main focus is to teach young men the game of baseball the correct way and most of all guide them on how to become a respectful young man.

Mission:

Show young men the importance of being accountable but most of all compete at the highest level possible, repsect all fear none!
