Convenor Responsibilities:

The convener for each division organizes and oversees the pre-season assessment sessions. The Reg coordinator will provide lists and spread sheets will be maintained and supplied to the convener once teams established.

The actual assessing of the players is done by volunteers with significant baseball experience.

FGBA assessment sheets will be used and tallied by the convener

Except at the Rookie level, individuals who have children playing at that age group will NOT do these assessments.

The convener for each age group will assemble teams and then coaches will be assigned once the tierng and team selection has been completed.

NOTE THERE HAS BEEN PROBLEMS IN THE PAST WITH PLAYERS PLAYING OTHER SPORTS (SUCH AS HOCKEY) AND THIS HAS EFFECTED THE TEAM CHEMESTRY, FORFIETS, AS WELL CREATED AN ENVIRONMENT ON THE TEAM THAT IS NOT PART OF OUR BASEBALL PROGRAM. WE URGE THOSE PARENTS TO PLEASE ADVISE YOUR AGE CONVENER PRIOR TO FGBA FORMING THE TEAMS. THIS WILL ALLOW US TO MAKE PLAYER / TEAM ADJUSTMENTS ACCORDINGLY.

Convener’s will assess quality and numbers determine numbers of A and AA teams and may also consider the potential of a AA development team in both Pee Wee & Bantam but will require the FGBA convener approval prior to implementing.

Age conveners are responsible for assessing and selecting coaches with proper accreditation is obtained.

Submission of team rosters to the FGBA convener by specified date

Arrange equipment and uniform pick up and return

Oversee and mediate any concerns over the year in conjunction with FGBA convener and FG C. C. board

Support and assist FGBA clinics and playoffs.
