Grizzlies Win Again!!!!

The Golden Isles Grizzlies notched their 3 win of the season at home to sit them at 3-0 on the season and 1st place in the North of the Florida Conference in the FFA. This game was proven to be a battle of who wants it more than the other. There is so much history behind these 2 teams that it was a feeling that both teams have never felt when facing each other. This win was a great win for the Grizzlies which marks the 1st time a team from Brunswick, Ga beat the River City Commandos in over an 8 year span. The Grizzlies offense jumped out quick on the Commandos by setting the tone of the game early with an 6-0 lead in the 1st quarter then to an 18-0 lead midway through the 2nd quarter but that did not discouraged the Commandos as they fought their way back into the game scoring 14 points quickly making it a 18-14 Grizzlies lead at the half. The 2nd half proven to be even better than the 1st half with both teams trading scores to make it a 26-22 game at the end of the 3rd quarter. With both teams battling it out on offense grinding to get that edge to a possible score, both defenses stepped up but only 1 prevailed and that was the Grizzlies with an late 4th quarter interception to not only stop a driving Commandos offense but it sealed the win for the Grizzlies. Round of 1 of this rivalry is completed but round 2 will be another battle and it takes place towards the end of the season down in Jacksonville, Fl with the GA/FL Rivalry trophy on the line. Thanks to the River City Commandos for travelling up to Georgia and also for a great game. Good luck to them on the rest of their season until we meet again towards the end of the season. Next week, the Grizzlies will take on the Cardinals of Jacksonville which will be another home game for the Grizzlies. Kickoff is schedule for 6pm at the North Glynn Sports Complex.
