Postseason Notes

Posted May 7, 2018

We had made the decision well before first pitch to pull Dalton Rouse before he reached 75 pitches on Friday, May 4th at David Crockett High School in a District Tournament play-in game.  We managed the game to make a run in the tournament, and our best opportunity to do that was to have Rouse available on Monday, April 7th.  If we did not pull Dalton, we had a great chance to win Friday and get in the double elimination portion of the tournament, but we may not have had Rouse available the rest of the tournament, and we did not want that.  I would go to my bullpen again, if it was today, Monday, May 7th.  I did not want to just get in, but wanted to put us in a position to make a run.  Many decisions are gambles.  This one did not work out in our favor, but we have no regrets.

Check back soon for more about the 2018 season.
