Happy For This Kid...
Posted April 20, 2022
Big Collin Morgan probably put a little too much pressure on himself during the 2021 campaign, as he tried to live up to his reputation as a slugging left handed hitter. The high expectations of the coaching staff may have also put pressure on Mr. Morgan. When it was all said and done, Collin was not pleased with his 2021 season.
Turn the calendar to 2022, and Collin Morgan is playing quality baseball. He has stabilized himself in the cleanup spot in the Bulldog batting order, hitting .340 with a .450 On-Base-Percentage, knocking in 12 runs, collecting two 2B, a 3B, and a HR. Almost as impactful as his offense has been Collin's stellar defense in right field. #16 has consistenly gotten good reads on balls in the air in right field. He has made routine catches, acrobatic catches, diving plays, and made big throws, including his doubling-off a University High runner at 1B in the first inning on Tuesday, April 19.
In addition to all of this, Morgan has appeared in eight games out of the Bulldog Bullpen, pitching especially well in tight games. We are happy for Collin, his family, and appreciate his contributions to the ball club.
