Dbacks Split With A's

REGINA, SK: The Saskatoon Diamondbacks got off to a rocky start allowing 5 runs after two innings. Three of the runs came on a homer by the A’s in the first. In the third inning the Dbacks got on track scoring 4 to narrow the gap to one and eventually tied the game in top of the 5th. The A’s got two back in their half of the 5th to take a lead that they would not relinquish. The Dbacks got 1 in the top of the 7th but could not get any closer. Shane Soderberg started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 7 hits, 7 runs, 4 earned run with 1 BB’s and 6 K’s. Matt Scott threw 1 inning clean. Offensively, the Dbacks scored 6 runs on 5 hits with Adam Sembalarus, Garrett Krawchuk and Tyler Schlichemeyer going 1 for 3. Cody Murfitt and Owen Lindberg were both 1 for 4.
Game 2 saw the Dbacks come out on top by a score of 11-4. Alex Grenier started on the mound going 6 innings allowing 5 hits, 4 runs with 2 BB’s and 6 K’s. Tyler Schlichemeyer threw 1 inning allowing 0 hits, 0 runs and 1 BB. Offensively, the Dbacks were led by Eric Clauson who was 2 for 3 with a walk and Nolan Machibroda who went 3 for 4. Owen Lindberg, Cody Murfitt, Shane Soderberg, Garrett Krawchuk and Tyler Schlichemeyer were all 1 for 4.
