DBacks Hold on to Beat Cubs 5-4

LEAKOS, SK: Graham Forrester hit a double and then Jarred Thompson, pinch running for Forrester, made it to third on a wild pitch before scoring on a double by Connor Ingram to beat the Saskatoon Cubs 5-4 on Thursday night. Owen Lindberg went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits with four strikeouts and five walks. Nolan Machibroda earned his second win of the year finishing things off going two innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits with two walks.
The Cubs started strong in the first inning when they had loaded bases and no outs, but Lindberg settled down and when the dust cleared escaped with only a two run deficit. Connor Ingram, Cody Murfitt, Carter Dahl and Graham Forrester each had two hits at the dish while Eric Clauson and Nolan Machibroda each had one.
The Diamondbacks, winners of nine of their last 10, travel to Estevan on Sunday to take on the Twins.
