Dbacks earn split with Parkland

CAIRNS, SK – Déjà vu all over again. A combination of the Dbacks coming out flat in game 1 and a strong pitching effort from the Parkland Expos resulted in a 4-1 loss for the Dbacks. Nolan Machibroda started on the mound going 5 innings allowing 8 hits, 4 runs, with 3 BB’s and 0 K’s. Shane Soderberg threw the last 2 innings allowing 0 run on 0 hits with 1 BB and 1 K. Offensively, Carter Dahl, Ryan Olchoway, Ryan Crilly and Alex Grenier were each 1 for 3. Tyrone Polson was 1 for 2.
Game 2 saw the Dbacks come out on top by a score of 9 to 3. Graham Forrester earned the win going 5 innings allowing 6 hits, 3 runs with 0 BB’s and 4 K’s. Ryan Olchoway went the next 2 innings allowing 0 runs with 1 BB’s and 2 K. Offensively, the Dbacks were led by Bryce Libke who was 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs. Tyler Schlichemeyer and Shane Soderberg were both 1 for 2 while Matt Scott and Ryan Olchoway were 1 for 3.
Next action for the Dbacks is Tuesday when they take on the Saskatoon Giants.
