Red Sox continue winning ways

CAIRNS, SK - The league leading Muenster Red Sox showed why they are the best team in the conference, beating the Saskatoon Diamond Backs 7-3 on Tuesday afternoon. Shane Soderberg opened the game for the Dbacks by hitting the first batter. The Red Sox then responded with a 2 run homer to go ahead 2-0. Soderberg settled down after the round tripper, pitching 3 solid innings with 3 K's and 1 BB. The Dbacks made a game of it scoring 3 runs in the third off Muenster ace Brody Frerich. However, that is all they could muster as the Sox scored 2 in the fourth and 3 in the 7th.
Tyler Schlichemeyer took the loss pitching the fourth inning giving up 2 runs on 1 hit with 1 BB and 2 K's. Alex Grenier pitched 2.1 innings giving up 3 runs on 3 hits with 1 BB and 1 K. Graham Forrester pitched the final 2 outs, allowing no hits with 1 K and 1 BB.
Carter Dahl led the Dbacks offence going 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Bryce Libke and Jarred Thompson were both 1 for 1 with a run scored, while Garrett Krawchuk and Nolan Machibroda were 1 for 4.
The Dbacks have a chance to finish conference play with a 500 record on Saturday when they host the Swift Current Indians in their final regular season game of 2016.
