Tribe Exacts Revenge with come from behind Victory over Expos!

The Vancouver Expos continued where they left off on the weekend scoring first and early putting up 2 runs against a giving Tri City defence.  The Tribe offence sputtered early stranding 6 base runners in the early innings which also including some self inflicted carnage on the base paths.

The Indians cut the lead in half when Columbus singled with one out in the bottom of the 3rd,  Seward and Clarke both sandwiched walks around a strike out bringing Norriss to the plate who promptly hit a 2 out single to score Columbus.

Tribes starter Clarke left the game after 3 innings due to an old Lacrosse injury that flared up.  Stanyer came in for long relief and put the game on his shoulders keeping the hot Expo offence at bay.  With one out in the bottom of the 4th Sugi looking down and out, fell behind 0-2 in the count but battled all the way back and worked the at bat into an all important walk.  Sugi stole 2nd and Columbus knocked him in to square the game up 2 - 2.

The Expos threatend in the top of the 6th with a runner at 3rd with one out but the Tribe countered the Expos safety squeeze attempt with their vaunted 5DLS defence and Yee Delivered the knockout punch with a perfect throw to take out the runner at the dish.

In the bottom of the 7th it was Deja Vu for the Indians as Sugi with one out once again fell behind 0 - 2 and won the battle AGAIN working an 8 pitch walk.  Sugi stole 2nd again and you guessed it Columbus promptly knocked him in for the go ahead run.

In the top of the 7th Stanyer struck out the first batter but the Expos were doing their best impression of Dracula refusing to die and after a walk and a hit had men on 1st and 2nd with 1 out.  Stanyer gave way to Blight who forced the next batter to fly out to Seward in right field to set off a chain of events that would have 5 different Indian players touch the ball before Yees strike to home for the final out put the final stake in the heart of the Expos to end the game.
