Frogs rout Willmar 11-3

The Bird Island Bullfrogs needed only 7 innings to beat the visiting Willmar Rails 11-0 on Wednesday night.
After a few rain outs, the Frog’s bats came alive versus the rails…led by Elliot Serbus hitting for the cycle.
The Frogs got 4 runs in the 2nd inning…started with a single by Hebrink, and followed up with a triple by Neubauer, a single by Serbus and a double by Maiers.
Bird Island added 4 more in the 3rd inning…Swan, Brooks and Gass singled, and Serbus hit a 2 run HR.
The Frogs used the pitching by committee approach…Jesse Bjur got the start, pitching the first 3 innings. He was followed by Dylan Gass pitching 3 innings and capped by Shawn Dollerschell pitching the 7th. The three pitchers combined for a one hit shut out.
The Frogs added 3 runs in the 7th to give a final score of 11-0.

With the win, the Bird Island Bullfrogs are now 8-3 overall and 4-3 in Cornbelt League play.
The Frogs travel to Raymond on Thursday night to take on the Raymond Rockets at 7:30 PM
