On Sunday June 17 the Supers welcomed the Grandview Lakers to Al Sapieha Field. Both teams received solid pitching and good fielding, but the Supers took advantage of a couple opportunities in a 5-1 victory.
Adam Korb started on the hill for the Supers and pitched well. He gave up five hits, one run, and had eight strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings to pick up the win. With the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the seventh, Derek Palagian recorded the final out to pick up the save.
The Lakers Austin Storey pitched five innings allowing three unearned runs on just four hits while taking the loss. Derek Palagian had a single and a double, while Bryan Sedley had a two rbi single. Evan Rostotski had a single and in the bottom of the sixth inning Zach Rakochy put the game out of reach with a two run home run.
The Supers continued to field the ball well by not committing an error all night. With the win the Supers record improves to 8 wins, 3 losses, and 2 ties. The next action is Friday, June 23 as the Willowbrook Royals come to town. First pitch is slated for 6:15 PM.
