Supers Improve to 8-2

Posted June 19, 2019

On Tuesday June 11 the Supers hosted the Back Forty Brewers out of Yorkton. The Supers piled on runs early and often and cruised to a 21-7 victory.

Kholton Shewchuk, Derek Palagian, Adam Korb and Ron Sopko combined to pitch seven innings. Palagian was credited with the win throwing two shutout innings in relief.

The offence managed sixteen hits led by the hot bat of Jordan Evans with two singles and two doubles. Tanner Melnychuk woke up from a slump with a pair of home runs and three rbis. Kody Rock, Brogan Legebokoff, Evan Rostotski and Logan Parachoniak each had a pair of hits. Derek Palagian and Kholton Shewchuk each had one hit.

The offence scored two in the first, five in the second, and twelve runs in the bottom of the third in an inning that seemingly would never end. Walks, wild pitches, and a few errors were taken advantage of in a big way by the Supers.

On Monday June 17 the Supers were in Yorkton to take on the Parkland Pirates. Colby Parachoniak started on the hill and was as good as he's been in several years. He went six innings allowing just three runs (one earned) on three hits with seven strikeouts and just one walk as the Supers prevailed 5-3. Parachoniak picked up the win.

Heading into the final inning, the Supers trailed 3-1. After a pair of singles by Logan Parachoniak and Kody Rock, Kholton Shewchuk and Jordan Evans both walked to make the score 3-2. With two out, Tanner Melnychuk would deliver the nail in the Pirates coffin with a bases loaded clearing double to give the Supers the lead they would not relinquish. Kody Rock came in for the save in the bottom of the seventh.

Logan Parachoniak had two singles, a double and a pair of runs to lead the way with the bats. Phil Sobkow had a single and a double. Jordan Evans had yet another double to give himself eleven for the season. Kody Rock also had one base hit.

With the wins the Supers improve to 8-2 on the season. Next action will we Wednesday, June 19 as the Roblin Stars visit Al Sapieha Field. First pitch is 6:15 PM
