Supers Fall to Legends
Posted June 20, 2021
On Thursday June 17 the Supers travelled to Langenburg to take on the Legends. Although the Supers only gave up one run, it was one too many as Legends pitcher Evan Markham was in mid season form in a 1-0 Legends win.
Kholton Shewchuk started on the hill for the first time in two years, and he carried on right where he left off by allowing no runs on three hits, with two strikeouts. Shewy was able to get out of a couple early inning jams to keep the Legends scoreless. New Supers addition Greg Pelechaty came in relief, and tossed two innings while giving up just one unearned run. He only allowed one hit and had three strikeouts, but was tagged with the loss.
Offensively the Supers just could not get it going, as they could only muster up four hits. Ian Quewezance had a single and a double to lead the way. Kody Rock had a single and a stolen base, while Carson Dennis had a single in his first Supers appearance since 2015. Also of note was the Supers debut of Taber Ebert of Norquay. He played left field and caught a fly ball.
The loss evens the Supers record at 1-1. Next action is on Tuesday, June 22 as the newly formed Yorkton Marlins come to town. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM at Al Sapieha Field
