Supers Defeat Cardinals
Posted July 1, 2021
On Wednesday June 30, the Supers hosted the Yorkton 18U Cardinals at Al Sapieha Field. It was a bit of a sloppy game as both teams booted the ball around a little, but in the end the Supers came out with a 13-5 victory.
The pitching was in fine form, as Darcy Blommaert started. He went four innings, allowing two unearned runs on just four hits with four strikeouts. He also picked off two Cardinals baserunners and was credited with the win. Greg Pelechaty came in relief and allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits to pick up the save.
Five Supers recorded multi-hit games. Evan Rostotski had three, while Pelechaty, Carson Dennis, Kholton Shewchuk and Zach Rakochy each had two. Greg Andreychuk, Jayden Heskin, and Taber Ebert each had one hit. Ebert's single was his first hit as a Super.
With the win the Supers record improves to 4-1. Next game action will be on Monday, July 5th as the Langenburg Legends come to town. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM
