Hollanders Send Draftees to State
Posted August 14, 2017
Although the Cologne Hollanders' hopes of making the state tournament were cut short after the two losses to Winsted in the Crow River Valley League (CRVL) Playoffs two weeks ago, the CRVL has picked up not one, not two, not three, but four Hollander pitchers during the league draft. Kyle Brazil and Tanner Luebke were both picked up by the Plato Bluejays, Casey Clemensen was picked up by the Carver Black Sox, and Zack Nelson was drafted by the Green Isle Irish. Each pitcher is well deserving of the honor as they help represent their respective host team, Cologne Hollanders, and the CRVL in the 2017 Minnesota Amateur Baseball Tournament.
This year's state tournament will be held in familiar grounds as Green Isle, Hamburg, and Norwood will play host to the 48 Class C teams as well as the 16 Class B teams. Each of the draftees' first games are as follows:
- Plato vs Winner of Springfield/Sobieski - Date/Time: Sat, Aug 26, 11:00am - Location: Green Isle
- Green Isle vs Regal - Date/Time: Sun, Aug 20, 12:00pm - Location: Green Isle
- Carver vs New York Mills - Date/Time: Fri, Aug 18, 7:30pm - Location: Hamburg
The Cologne Hollanders organization wishes the best of luck to the four pitchers, their respective teams, and the CRVL in this year's state tournament.
Ga Hollanders!
