2018 NATIONAL CHAMPS - COQUITLAM ANGELS

The Coquitlam Angels took home the National Championship in August!

The round robin saw the Angels go 3-1 against Alberta, Quebec, Ontario and PEI. Leading to a semi final against cross country New Brunswick.

The Angels won a barnburner against the Moncton Fisher Cats in the semi. With Shawn Schaefer throwing a gem, it was a bullpen game with Sean Callegari and a double dosing of pickup Danny Britton Foster prolonging the game long enough to see Taylor Lawrence knock in Alex Graham with the walkoff hit.

In the final the Angels met up with the Victoria Mavericks, who came all the way from the brink of elimination in the round robin to beat Quebec and Ontario in the quarter and semi. The Angels would start pickup Braden Alleman who did a great job going through 4 1/3. Grant Malm hit a 1st inning HR that put the Angels up 3 early. Things got tight when it was 3-2 Angels in the 5th. Manager Kevin Powell went with Luke Manuel to put out a bases loaded fire with the Mavericks 3/4 hitters coming up. Manuel struck both of the hitters out then cruised through the last 2 innings to seal the title for the Angels
