Docs Split, Season Ends
Posted July 19, 2017
The Docs knew going into the final league doubleheader of the year that they had to win both games against the Willamette Valley Titans. The Docs played inspired baseball from the beginning, scoring 3 runs in the first inning of game one and they built the lead throughout. They put the game away in the sixth inning with 5 runs, including two home runs, and won 12-6. Will Shaw pitched 6 innings and got the win.
In game 2, the Docs once again scored a run in the first inning but the Titans scored four runs in the home half of the inning, aided by sloppy defense by the Docs. They held the lead throughout and pushed across 6 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to notch a 10-run, walk-off win.
The Willamette Valley Titans will travel to the the Area 2 runner-up and play for a spot in the State Tournament. The Docs' season is done. It was a fun summer, see you next year.
