For the second consecutive year the Tigers will be particpating in the TSSAA State Tournament. The Tigers once again traveled to Chattanooga to take on a private school with a very impressive record, with the same outcome. This year the Tigers would be taking on SIlverdale Academy coming in with a 21-5 record. The Tigers jumped out to 2-0 lead in the seccond inning and never looked back as they never trailed in the 10-1 victory. The Seahawks threatened to answer as they led of the bottom of the second with back to back singles, but a failed bunt attempt left the runner too far off second and catcher Justin Vaden threw a laser to get the runner, then Hunter Mann got a groundball that yielded a double play to end the threat. Both teams got out of jams int he third and fourth innings without yielding any runs. In the 5th the Tigers tacked on 3 runs off no hits, as the Tigers took advantage of 4 Seahawk errors and 1 walk. Then much like last year the Tigers put the nail in the coffin in the 6th with 5 runs, as Luke Blackburn, Leith McKinney, Joey Parliment, and Hunter Davis ripped off 4 consecutive hits, and Bobby Parliment hit a 2 run homerun to give the Tigers a 10-0 lead. The Seahawks hit a solo homerun in the 6th to extend the game to the 7th inning, but could not score another run.
