PBL spring meeting spells change for most

The President of the league will step down and that won’t be the only change at the top of PBL organizations this summer.

The league will begin a search for another figurehead at the Annual Spring Meeting, set now for March 27 at the Edgeworth Centre in Camrose from 7 to 9 p.m.

Likewise, a couple teams will switch things up this summer as long-time managers either out right retire or begin to hand over the reigns to their younger teammates.

The move already happened in Bardo the past couple seasons with Craig Neufeld taking over for leaders Mike LeClaire and Ray Lehman. Josh Banack is reported to being transferring decisions on the Camrose Roadrunners to Sheldon Petryshen and others on the team. Finally, Armena will say goodbye to Clark Banack and Jason Buzzell will begin his slow release of team duties – especially on the on-field decisions.

Another change will be the rosters for 2014. The Ryley Rebels have reportedly loaded up in an arms race using Sunburst players, while the Armena Royals have added young pieces to help them with much-needed depth. Holden continues to bolster their lineup from Vegreville while Camrose has tapped into the eastern markets. Beaumont will be a year older and wiser. But will it still not be enough to upset Leduc?

Time will tell.
