Milleteer Bats Break Out

The Milleteers bats broke out tonight versus the winless Roadrunners as everyone got themselves a batting average, save for player coach Steve Pahl. The 19-hit attack started early with a bunch of bloops and bleeders, then after a two-out error prolonged the first inning, the line drives started coming.

After one, starter Murray Doyle had a seven run lead. Doyle looked sharp in his two shutout innings as he works his way back from major knee surgery.

After the Roadrunners turned a nifty double play to get out of the second the Milleteers would put up another seven spot in the third as they sent 12 to the plate.  The inning also saw a nasty hop come up and hit SS Cody Sroka in the chicklets, who had to come out ofthe game.

In the bottom of the third the Milleteers gave the ball to young rookie TJ Grabia. Grabia held the Roadrunners off the scoresheet in his three innings of work, racking up four strikeouts.  The game ended on a diving stab from left fielder Adam Pahl, who saves his best defence for blowouts.

Next up for the Milleteers will be their home tournament, before a two games next week versus Bardo and Ryley, whom the are chasing in the standings.
