Prior Lake scored what proved to be the game winning run in the first inning and never looked back in the decisive win. The Jays’ pitching was too much to handle for the Saints as they collected just three hits and struck out 15 times. St. Peter used four different pitchers in the game, cycling positions in the field with just one bench player.

The Saints got their first win of the season after jumping out to a 6-1 lead in the first two frames. The local nine scored four runs in the first with just one hit, three walks, and two Cardinal errors. Two more crossed home in the second as Shea Roehrkasse plated Ryan Kapsner and Jovan Rodriguez with a double.
Fairfax scored solo runs in the second, third, and fifth innings, along with a pair in the sixth, but starting pitcher Jesse Anderson worked his way out of jams and retired the last nine batters he faced. Anderson finished with three earned runs allowed on 15 hits with three Ks and zero walks.
The Saints added four insurance runs in the sixth. Sam Wenner reached on an error, stole second, and scored on a single by Ty Kaus. Kapsner followed with another base hit and then Rodriguez blasted a two-run triple off the top of the right field fence. Three batters later, Rodriguez scored as CJ Siewert reached on an error.
Kapsner (2-4, 2 R, BB), and Roehrkasse (2-4, 2 R, BB, 2 2B, 2 RBI) led the team at the plate.
St. Peter (1-4, 1-1 RVL) travels to Arlington on Friday night and Henderson on Sunday afternoon.
