Ian Adler would get the Mounties on the board early in the 1st period to give them the 1-0 lead. While the Mounties were trying to rally late, John Redgate would bury a rebound with 18.6 seconds to go. The Mounties would enter the Spartans zone 1 more time and made a scoring opportunity but was denied by the paddle of the goaltenders stick.
