Although the loss to Lord Botetourt in the final game of the season was very disappointing, the Terriers can hold their heads high. A new coach took over the program after one departed who, for 38 years, was the face of Terrier Football. A new scheme, a new way of doing things, a new philosophy...all things that lead to an adjustment period. The Terrier players and coaches met this challenge head on and in the end the program will see rapid growth and success in the years to come. Great things are in store for the Football Terriers and we are all excited to see where things will go.
Terrier Football would like to thank the seniors for their dedication to the program. A transition to a new coach in the final year of your high school career can be rough, but you all showed leadership and maturity and worked hard to lead by example. If your plan is to play at the next level in college, we wish you the very best. College coaches are visiting the school now so be prepared, on a daily basis, to meet with them. Keep in mind that you only have one chance to make a good 1ST impression. If you do not plan on playing football at the next level whether it be due to another sport or you just do not have any interest, we wish you all the best and good luck in whatever you do.
As far as the end of the year banquet is concerned, it is still in the planning stage, but most likely will be on a day in January. Please stay on the look out for more information in the weeks to come.
Finally, all of us at Terrier Football would like to wish you all the very best during this holiday season. Please take some time to reflect on what is important in life and all that we have to be thankful for. Take a moment and connect with family and friends. Time can sometimes be the best gift someone can give.
As always....THANK YOU for your support of William Byrd Terrier Football!
