Vancouver Mounties Bantam AAA Tryout Information!
We
welcome you to Tryout for the Vancouver Mounties Bantam AAA team. The

division which is the Tier 1 League for bantam aged players. Last year
the Mounties were 2011 League Champions, Provincial Sliver Medalists,
and Western Canadian Silver Medalists.
Tryouts are open to ANY PLAYER WHO RESIDES IN VANCOUVER COMMUNITY's Boundaries born in 1997 or 1998.
( FAQ Can out of boundary players try out for the Mounties? see below:)
All Mounties Tryouts will be held at Hillcrest Park and will be two hours in length on the following dates:
Sunday February 5, 1:00pm
Saturday February 11, 1:00 pm (Group 1)
Saturday February 11, 3:00pm (Group 2)
Sunday February 12, 1:30 pm (Groups TBA)
Saturday February 18, TBA
Sunday February 19, TBA
Bantam AAA is a single season
format providing the highest calibre of baseball for this age group.
The league has teams from the Okanagan to the Lower Mainland and over
on Vancouver Island. The Mounties will play 70+ games this season
including exhibition games, league play, and tournaments. Our season
runs from practices in early March through to the middle of August and
the season concludes with a Provincial Championship, a Western Canadian
Championship, and a Canadian National Championship for the top team in
the province.
The Mounties AAA program promotes a positive team
atmosphere with an emphasis on skill development, physical fitness, team
play, discipline, and respect for opponents, officials, and the game.
Although being a Mountie is a big commitment, the coaches recognize that
there are other distractions during the baseball season (school, other
sports etc.) and as such we will work with each player to fit baseball
into their schedules. We ask that the players be available for games
and the majority of the practices.
The Mounties Bantam AAA
program is designed to prepare young ballplayers to move up to higher
levels of play (Midget AAA and BC Premier Baseball League) and to
eventually compete for roster spots in showcase events like the BC
Summer Games, Pacific Northwest Championships, and the Arizona Fall
Classic.
We look for players who want to work hard, improve, and
excel. If you have the desire to play at this level and end up making
the team, we can assure you that you will get playing time.
The
Coaches for the team are Ted Pawlick, Sonny Sengara, Todd Mundle, John
Russell and Teddy Pawlick. Combined this coaching staff have many years
of baseball experience and Level 2 National Coaching qualifications.
The
Mounties encourage everyone to try out for Bantam AAA this year and
can promise a rewarding and competitive season of baseball.
Anyone who resides in Vancouver who would like more information regarding the Mounties program please contact Ted Pawlick bearshar@telus.net or 604 872-4996 (home)
