Press Release: DMV Bucks, also known as (Tri-state Bucks) family is ecstatic to announce Michael Thompson, a former NBA player, as a part of our coaching staff.

Heathsville, Virginia newly Premier Professional D-League women’s basketball team (DMV Bucks) is pleased to announce Michael Thompson coming aboard as our assistant coach on March 03, 2017.
Michael Thompson was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, where he first fell in-love with the game of basketball. He played ball at Dunbar High for a portion of his high school career and then later transferred to Boys Latin High School, where he helped win their first Championship in 1980. Michael Thompson also played professional basketball for a total of 14 years in New England, ABA, CBA, and briefly in the NBA with the Cavaliers in 1982. Michael Thompson later went back to University of North Carolina where he got his degree in Mass Communication in 1985. Down the road a few years later, Thompson won his second ring overseas with Manchester England in 1991.
Michael Thompson accomplished many goals and now wants to carry his knowledge of the game from his previous professional years to help the Bucks reach their future goals.
In Michael Thompson’s words, “Coming from the streets of Baltimore, we had to play hard to get to where we needed to be. I had the opportunity to reach my dream in playing professional basketball and now I want to coach and mentor players to do the same”
