Expos Bounce Back From Saturday with a 3-0 Win; Hutchings, Inomata and Horino Combine To Silence Mounties Bats

The Expos looked fresh and motivated to get back on the horse after a pitiful Saturday in Richmond. The boys were up early at the park at 9am taking their hacks in a very light and spirited pre-game batting practice. Vancouver Minor knew they were in for a test on Sunday versus a mature Vancouver Community squad (only three 2002 players on their roster). VCB fresh off a Bantam PBL Jamboree got their first taste of exhibition games against a team that'll be competing against for one of the coveted provincial berths come end of July. Both teams had their top-tier pitchers getting the start.

Hutchings (SP, W) was masterful in this one, outdueling his counter-part, Aiden Perry of Community. In <75 pitches, Hutchings managed to get through 4 innings with 7 Ks only allowing a single hit to the leadoff batter, Aiden Perry (a dribbler infront of the mound that technically after confession did go off the batter's leg). Yet again, the southpaw from East Vancouver continued to show why he undoubtedly will be one of the most feared pitchers in the league this year.

Offense was once again a high note for the Vancouver Minor Expos as they continued to mash the ball, collecting 9 hits. First two runs on the board were thanks to an RBI single from Yamamoto (after a leadoff double by Betonio) and Hutchings who helped his own cause with an RBI single to drive home Yamamoto from second. The game didn't see anymore scoring until the 6th where Baybay smacked an RBI single to plate Horino. Speaking of Horino, the lefty had a trio of base-knocks today; Hutchings with a pair of hits himself.

Inomata and Horino came in to relieve Hutchings after 4 innings and both continued where Hutchings left off. All 3 pitchers today were outright dominant, hitting spots with precision and listening to their catcher.

The squad in the baby blue uniforms with the red and blue stripe down the shoulders bounced back from yesterday in a big way!
