B-Team Wins First Home Match

Waverly's B-Team celebrates its 1st home victory and 2nd win of the season.
While the final steps were being completed on the home court for the Lady Wildcats, they hosted the William James Lady Colonels at Waverly Central High School. In the previous meeting between these two schools at White Bluff, the Lady Colonels took the match win 2 sets to 1. The Lady Wildcats were looking to change the outcome this time around. Waverly got off to a good start taking the first set 22-14. The second set was much closer as the Lady Colonels won 25-23. The Lady Wildcats took an early 4-2 lead in the third set and never gave up that lead. Waverly won the set 15-7 and took the match win.
Serving leaders for Waverly were Abbie Landiss 8 for 8 with 2 aces, Lofton Etheridge 17 for 18 with 8 aces, Nicole Henry 7 for 8, Lexi McGranahan 5 for 6, and Molly Fortner 7 for 10 with 5 aces. Passing leaders were Emma Rushton 19 for 22, Lexi McGranahan 7 for 7 with 3 digs, Lofton Etheridge 12 for 14 with 1 dig, Abbie Landiss 9 for 11 with 1 kill, Molly Fortner 16 for 21 with 2 kills, Alex Varner 4 for 4, Abby Varner 4 for 6 with 2 digs, and Kyra Lewis 3 for 4.
