MSBL

The Rockets had sucess in their first year in the MSBL, as they were able to advance to the league finals before losing to the Brandon Cloverleafs.  Danny Andres was the league batting champion and named a league first team all-star.  Import Dave Morari, Rory Tycoles, Alexander McKinnon, Buddy Mayert, and Mitch Olson were all named all-stars.  Ross Tycoles was named coach of the year.

In 2008 the Rockets placed last and had a record of 8-11-1. The team took an early exit form the playoffs losing to the Brandon Cloverleafs in teh elimination round. Mitch Olson was teh Rockets leading hitter with a .317 average and led the league in doubles with 7. Rory tycoles led the league in runs with 15. All-stars were Mitch Olson, Rory Tycoles, Alexander McKinnon, Eric Truscott, Danny Andres, and Cory Neer

In 2009 the Rockets finished in 2nd place in the regular season with a 12-8 record, playing the Brandon Cloverleafs in teh semi-finals and goind down to defeat 3-2 losing the 5th game 2-1. Tyler Henderson won the batting title wiht a .361 average. The Rockets had first allstars in Rory Tycoles, Andrew Lochhead, and Jeff Katchmar, while Tyler Henderson, Ben Richardson, Mitch Olson, Paul Thompson, Ryan Bodell, and Alexander McKinnon made the 2nd All star team.

Rocket players finished 1,2,3 in the league batting race in 2010, with Mitch Olson winning the batting title hitting .412, followed by Tony Isbell (.405) and Rory Tycoles (.400).  2010 also brought the Rockets their first regular season pennant, and six players named to the first all star team, and one second team all star selection.  Despite the regular season success however they were swept by the Brandon Cloverleafs in the league championship.

2011 would finally be the Rockets year, as they blew through the regular season securing a second consecutive pennant, and sweeping through the Cloverleafs to bring home the first Senior AAA Championship.  Sheldon Moore was named the Rookie of the Year, while Mitch Olson was named playoff MVP.

As a result of the 2011 championship the Reston Rockets, from a community of 700 people would take on the nation, representing Manitoba at the 2012 Canadian Championships in Prince George, BC.  The Rockets defeated Victoria, BC and Strathroy, ON on the way to a tie for first in the pool, before falling in the quarterfinals, and finishing 5th.  Buddy Mayert hit .400 to win the league batting title, while Ross Tycoles would be inducted into the Baseball Manitoba Honor Society in November.

2013 was a season of great highs and lows for the Rockets.  The community would be affected by a flood as the team struggled through the first half of the season.  With Tycoles Field under water the Rockets would play games in Deloraine, and battled through the remainder of the year to finish 8-12 and finish in 4th place in the regular season.  Andy Moore would win the batting title and Mitch Olson would be the league MVP.  All that was left to happen was for the Rockets to go on a magical run.  Following a 2 game sweep of Oak River the Rockets got down 2-1 to the pennant winning Brandon Marlins, before winning game 4 in Reston and game 5 in Brandon 1-0 to win the series and advance to the league finals for the fourth time in their history.  In the first all rural final in the league in over 20 years, the Rockets fell behind 3-1 following four really tight ball games, before running off three straight wins to win their second title in three years.  Cole Stober would be named the playoff MVP.

SWBL ERA

The Reston Rockets joined the SWBL in 1998. They were a young team in the early years and struggled to win games. Their roster in 1998 consisted of the Reston high school team, plus 4 veteran players. Throughout the next four years they grew as a team under the direction of head coach Duane Seens, and made the playoffs for the 1st time in 2002.

In 2003 Ross Tycoles took over as head coach, and the Rockets added Vinny Eastman, a long time MSBL pitcher to the team, and for the first time they captured the SWBL pennant, and advanced to the provincials. Eastman, along with Buddy Mayert, and Aaron Tycoles also represented the SWBL at the provincial AA championships, as league all-stars.

The Rockets were able to overcome an off-season injury to Buddy Mayert in 2004, to win their second consecutive SWBL pennant. That season was also special for a number of players on the Rockets. Aaron Tycoles, Rory Tycoles, Jeff Katchmar, Travis Paton, Tyson Martens and Matt Degagne were all members of the Provincial AA champion Southwest Stars. This was the first time since 1989, that the league had won the championship. Rory Tycoles would go on to win the Baseball Manitoba Senior AA player of the year award.

A slow start hampered the Rockets in 2005. They were able to get into the playoffs, and would go on to upset the pennant winning Virden Oilers in the league semi finals only to lose a hard fought series to the Souris Cardinals in the finals. Buddy Mayert was 100% healthy, and won the league batting title, with a .594 batting average. Mayert, along with Paton, and Aaron Tycoles would also represent Manitoba at the Western Canadian Championships in Westlock, Alberta

In 2006 the Rockets would again be at the top of the SWBL through the regular season. They would only loose 6 games all season. Of those 6 losses, 4 were to the Wawanesa Brewers, once in the provincial semi finals, and twice more in the league finals. Jeff Katchmar, Rory Tycoles, Aaron Tycoles, and Buddy Mayert would once again represent the SWBL at the AA provincials, only to loose to the Stonewall Blue Jays in the finals in extra innings. Rory would go on to win the SWBL Batting title with a .574 batting average.
