ABOUT THE RAVENS

The Volusia County Ravens, INC. an adult minor league football and basketball program was developed to give players more than just another shot at football or basketball, but in life. The Ravens provides an opportunity for the players to pursue higher education and help turn their lives around. The teams will be comprised of men and women 17 years and older from various backgrounds, and people who reside in cities in and surrounding the Volusia County area.

The purpose of the organization is help Volusia County clean the streets as well as to bridge the gap between youth and young adulthood for high school senior that does have the qualifications or ability to go off to college by instructing and playing top quality football and basketball, while positively developing our neighborhoods and communities at the same time. Additionally the organization will promote the development of leadership, character, sportsmanship, tolerance, discipline, and athletic ability. The organization will nurture fitness, volunteer, and a lifelong love of sports in the community. The Ravens organization will encourage and help those individuals who do not have a college education to go to back to school and share in the dream of academic and athletic excellence.

To strengthen the Volusia County Ravens relationship with the community, the organization will participate in a mentoring program for at risk youth; by accomplishing a minimum of four (4) community service activities annually, and manage a scholarship program for local individuals seeking a college degree. Our players will be required to complete ten (20) community service hours a year.

The Volusia County Ravens Organization will field traveling teams in men tackle football, men summer league basketball and women summer league basketball. The Ravens organization maintains connections and good relationships with Professional Organization such as: NCAA, NAIA, JUCCO, NFL, CFL, AFL, AF2, IFL, NBA, WNBA, CBA, NBDL and more.

The Ravens is recognized as a nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible. Our goal for 2008-2009 is to obtain corporate sponsorships that will enable us to fulfill our quest for the Ravens to gain national and international recognition through our success on the field, our success as an organization, and fulfill our commitment to the local community

THE RAVENS' MISSION

It is the mission of the Volusia County Ravens to provide our fans with the most exciting sporting environment possible at the best value for their dollar. Our program is dedicated to being competitive and giving our fans a fun experience at all times. This will be established inside a safe and secure facility making this a great event for the whole family!

The Volusia County Ravens is also dedicated to being a developmental program to our players. It is our goal to help all members of our program advance to the level by promoting our players so they can reach their respected goals. Whether they are players out of High School still wishing to reach a strong college program or a past college athlete trying to reach the professional levels, it is our goal to help them get there by working with such scouting departments to give them their deserved opportunity.
