Mens Baseball Week 14 Power Rankings

1.Matadors(12-2) The Matadors are still the top ranked team even though beating the last place Demons doesn't say much. However, thier ace pitcher has had a recent injury which has to have the team shaken up. If he can't get healthy for some of the bigger games the Matadors have left this season, they are going to really have to step up thier game to get wins.

2.Outfitters(8-3-2) Another week another win for the Outfitters. They are now on a 7 game winning streak and have a big weekend ahead of them. They face the Knights and the Hurricanes which should be 2 great games.

3.Hurricanes(10-4) They are still winning games and are currently tied for 2nd place. They have a big game this weekend against the Outfitters.

4.Scorpions(10-4) The Scorpions battled some with the Ball Busters but showed that they are too good of a team to not put up runs. They had great pitching and thier bats really came alive.

5.Knights(7-7) The Knights are really starting to pick up some wins. If they keep it up they might be the 6th place team and will knock the Beavers out of the playoffs this season. They have a big game this weekend lets see if they can come up with another win.

6.Beavers(7-7) The Beavers are still slumping and are looking to be knocked out of the playoffs this season. They need to get some wins and start climbing in the standings.

7.Raptors(7-6-1)

8.Ball Busters(3-9-2)

9.Han(2-9-1)

10.Demons(0-12)

Mens Baseball Week 13 Power Rankings

1.Matadors(11-2) The Matadors showed again in week 13 that they are the top team in the league. They are sitting comfortable in 1st place, with 2 teams 2 games behind them. The teams pitching is still solid, they held the high scoring Raptors to only 2 runs. The teams bats are also showing that they can put up multiple runs. They still have to face the Beavers, Hurricanes, and Outfitters, which will be 3 tuff games.

2.Outfitters(7-3-2) The Outfitters came out strong as ever against the Beavers this week. They were able to put up 12 runs at the plate, on the hill they were lights out, and the teams defense came up with big plays when they were needed. The Outfitters are really showing that they are the complete team that is going to be hard to beat. If they can all stay healthy and keep playing good ball the championship looks to be in their schedule.

3.Hurricanes(9-4) They had an easy game this week, playing the Demons who are still looking for thier 1st win of the season. The Hurricanes however, were able to put up 15 runs and allow only 5 runs to score. They have a tougher game next week against the Beavers, we will see if they can defeat the slumping Beavers, and keep the Hurricanes win streak alive.

4.Scorpions(9-4) The Scorpions played the Ball Busters this week and had some trouble putting up runs. The teams pitching was still solid, giving up only 4 runs. They were able to slip away with the win with the score 5 to 4. The Scorpions are starting to show some weakness as the season is unfolding. They will need to come together once the playoffs come if they wanna get past the 1st round.

5.Knights(6-7) The Knights came out big this week putting up 15 runs at the plate and getting the win. They are capable of scoring off the better pitching in the league and can shut teams down with thier pitching. If they can stay consistant they will be a dangerous team.

6.Raptors(7-5-1) They loss 11 to 2 to the 1st place Matadors this week. They are a high scoring team but seem to come up short every time they face decent pitching.

7.Beavers(7-6) Getting shutout 12 to 0 says enough. This team is in a bad slump.

8.Ball Busters(3-8-2)

9.Han(2-9-1)

10.Demons(0-13)

Mens Baseball Week 12 Power Rankings

1.Matadors(10-2) The Matadors once again showed that there pitching is the most dominant in the league. They held the current defending champions to only 3 runs in 9 innings. They still have a couple of tough games remaining in the season, against the Hurricanes again and the Outfitters. We will see if they can keep up there pitching to get the wins and finish the season in 1st place.

2.Outfitters(6-3-2)This team really showed this last week that they are serious about winning. They held the 2nd best record team and one of the top scoring teams to only 4 hits and 3 runs in 8 innings. This team can also put up runs against good pitching. They scored 13 runs with 2 homeruns in this game. They play The Beavers next week who is trying to come off a losing streak we will see if the Outfitters can keep there 5 game winning streak alive.

3.Scorpions(8-4) The Scorpions got knocked down in the rankings by the lack of run support in there recent game. They are still one of the top team in the league and are very dangerous to play. If they are not able to hit the more dominant pitching in the league they are going to lose games

4.Hurricanes(8-4) The Hurricanes are in the same spot as the Scorpions. They are still a very dangerous team. They however are unable to do damage when facing the better pitching in the league. They are also starting to show holes in there defense and making more errors that will end up costing them closer games. They still have to play the Outfitters and Matadors again, we will see if they can come together and get some wins.

5.Raptors(7-4-1) The Raptors wanted to show that they are still a good hitting team this week. They put up 15 runs and were able to 10 run rule the 2nd to last place team in the league. They need to play good baseball if they wanna climb back on top in this league.

6.Ball Busters(3-7-2)One of the biggest shockers this week was the Ball Busters. They came out and beat the Beavers 11 to 6. Although the Beavers had a rough game defensivly the Ball Busters were able to take advantage of it and put up runs and hold the big bats of the beavers and get the win.

7.Beavers(7-5)

8.Knights(5-7)

9.Han(2-8-1)

10.Demons(0-12)

Mens Baseball Week 11 Power Rankings

1. Scorpions.(8-3) One of the newest teams in the league has really proven to have what it takes to be the top team in the league. They have played good baseball for the 1st half of the season. If they can keep up they will go far in the playoffs.

2. Matadors.(9-2) The best record in the league. They have shown that that they have the most dominating pitcher in the league giving up only 47 runs in 11 games. If there star pitcher can keep up his pitching he could carry his team into a championship game.

3. Hurricanes.(8-3) Last seasons champions are not looking up to par. They are still winning games and even though they lost thier top pitcher, thier pitching is still very strong. They have only allowed 69 runs in 11 games. They are also not showing that they can put up runs on the board like have in last seasons. They have made some late additions to the team that looks to pick up thier offense and help get them to another championship victory.

4. Outfitters.(5-3-2) This team is really looking like the team to beat. They have made some mid season additions to the team that look to really put them in the race for the championship. They have some of the biggest hitters in the league that have shown to put up runs against the best pitchers in the league. The teams weakness has been pitching this season, however the teams pitching is back on track with the help of there new addition to the pitching staff.

5. Dirty Beavers.(7-4) The Beavers added a lot of key players over the offseason to help them get to a championship game. They play good ball, put up runs and thier pitching is what has been able to keep them into games. They are a good team and always put up a fight but are still looking to get on a winning streak.

6. Raptors.(6-4-1) The 1st few weeks the Raptors were the team to beat. They were beating the top teams in the league and showed they have what it takes to win. They recently have started to fall apart. They still have some great hitters but thier defense has made some key errors and pitching has really gone down hill. If they don't figure out how to get some wins they might not make it into the playoffs.

7. Han

8. Knights

9. Ball Busters

10. Demons

Men’s Baseball: Week 4 Power Rankings

17 March 2010 No Comment

*The Outfitters and Han teams will not arrive on the power rankings scene until after they have played 3 games:

1. Matadors (4-1): They thumped the previously undefeated Raptors last week and place themselves squarely into the #1 position.

2. Raptors (4-1): Can they shrug off their loss and get back to their winning ways? They face the Outfitters this week.

3. Dirty Beavers (4-1): They are winning games, but even they admit they haven’t been overly impressive. Huge match-up against the Matadors on Sunday.

4. Hurricanes (2-2)

5. Scorpions (3-2)

6. Knights (1-3)

7. Ball Busters (1-4)

8. Demons (0-5)

2009 Fall Season Power Rankings (as of 10/11/09)

1) Aces: They a team that has really came together. They make plays when they need them and come up with the hits that make other teams make plays and really know how to benifit off of other teams errors.

2) Coyotes: With big wins against some of the better teams in the league they have shown to everyone they are a new and improved team this year that comes ready to win. They will continue to get better and are going to be one of the teams to beat when playoffs come around.

3) Hurricanes: They are always on thier A game and come ready to play with some of thier key players they are always a hard team to beat. With teams getting stronger the Hurricanes are starting to struggle to get wins.

4) Beavers: A team that is really starting to be a 1 man team is starting to settle in as being one of the top teams in the league. As the season gets closer to the end and teams start to step it up for the playoffs the Beavers will start to fall apart and end up with a lot of losses.

5) Bandits/Outfitters: 2 teams that tied for 5th place are 2 great teams that always are trying to improve and try to get away from errors. They always come up big at the plate and seem to lose it in the field but both teams will seem to put it all together when it comes playoff time.

2009 Spring Season Power Rankings (as of 4/23/2009)

Here are the week 7 rankings, provided by a guest contributor:

1) Brewers (7-0): The Brewers continue their domination over the league, remaining undefeated after half the season has been completed.  Will they go undefeated?

2) Hurricanes (5-2): The Hurricanes two losses come to the Matadors and Brewers.  They win the games that they are supposed to, and that's important in a league like this.

3) Matadors (5-2): The reason that the Matadors are #3 and not #2 is because they had a slip up a few weeks ago, losing two games in a row.  They are poised to make a run at the #1 spot.

4) Knights (5-2): Three teams at 5-2, and all in Division II.  The Knights round out the top four, but could easily be #2 as well.

5) Outfitters (4-3): They are tied for first in Division I and playing great baseball.  They can catapult up the rankings with a win over the Knights.

1) Aces

2) Coyotes

3) Hurricanes

4) Beavers

5) Bandits/Hurricanes

Pro Power Rankings (as of 04/10/2009)
Here are the week 6 rankings, provided by a guest contributor:

1) Brewers - Hard to not give the one spot to a team without a loss. Very solid all around team. Its not often that you see any team in an adult league go games without making errors. They have made it to the half way point with out a loss.. can they finish off the perfect season? Or will their second time through their division spell a defeat. Only time will tell at this point.

2) Hurricanes - A week one loss has this team hoping for help to overcome the Brewers. Good wins against the Knights and Beavers give them the confidence they need to make some noise when the playoffs role around, while mercy rule wins against the Coyotes and Cobras show that the team can beat the teams they are supposed to. They can't look past the Bandits or Outfitters, but with Sam Cohoon starting games they will be difficult to beat. Now they just have to get things going the next time they play the Brewers and not let errors ruin another game.

3) Matadors - A strong all around team that still has its eye on a Championship. Mike Friedemann has put together a strong team when all cylinders are clicking. Jeremy and Taylor seem to be a decent 1-2 punch in the rotation while the lineup starting with Jarrett and Tim seem to get that team going right away. They slipped a little against the Knights and Brewers, but a big win against the Beavers this past week keeps them in the 3 spot. A win over the Hurricanes in week one is also a bright spot on their resume, while a huge win over an apparently surging Outfitters team also is a bright spot. This team can definitely do some damage.

4) Knights - The team is on a 3 game winning streak, but wins by the Mats and Canes keep them in the 4 slot. Mercy wins over the Bandits and Cobras show that the team can rack up runs, while a 1-run win over the Mats show that they are capable of winning the close ones. There is a solid lineup here, and the defense allows very few errors.

5) Outfitters - Some might see this as a shock seeing as they aren't in 1st place in their division, but after a strong performance against the Brewers and a Beaver loss to the Mats they slide into the 5 spot. I haven't seen this team play but I have heard good things from opposing managers. Some might see them as a sleeper when the playoffs come around, but I see them winning their division.

Here are the week 5 rankings:

1. Brewers (5-0):

5. Knights (3-2):

Honorable Mentions: Outfitters

Pro Power Rankings (as of 03/25/2009)
Another week down in the Pro Division. Some surprising results. Here are the new Power Rankings:

1. Brewers (4-0): They defeated a solid Hurricanes team this week, and will now face the Matadors, can they go undefeated?

2. Matadors (3-1): Lost a close game to the Knights, and now face the Brewers. They could go from 3-0 to 3-2 very quickly.

3. Hurricanes (2-2): They lost this week, but don't drop in the power rankings. A loss to the Brewers is not something to hang your head about.

4. Dirty Beavers (3-1): Defeated the Cobras with only 8 players. Their bats were awake and their pitching good enough.

5. Knights (2-2): Surprised some people with a victory over the Matadors. Right now they are the odd team out in the tough Pro Division II.

Pro Power Rankings (as of 03/17/2009)
The Pro Power Rankings will see us rating the top five teams in the division. Which teams made the cut in this first edition?:

1. Matadors (3-0): This team was a playoff team last season and is off to a very good start. Can they continue their winning ways?

2. Living Legends/Brewers (3-0): Soon to be referred as simply as the Brewers, this new teams has other teams taking notice. They have already made claims of having an undefeated season.

3. Hurricanes (2-1): Formerly the Bulls of the Elite Division this team is a mix of experienced and new players. The scary thing about their 2-1 start is that we expect them to be much better by the end of the season.

4. Dirty Beavers (2-1): Strong pitching and some strong defensive players has this team as a strong fundamental unit.

5. Knights (1-2): Their losses are to the Brewers and the Hurricanes, 2 of the top 3 teams in the league.
