Hello Parents.  This page gives you a brief description of my coaching background.

Qualifications (NCCP & BC Soccer):

NCCP # CC953189

Level 1 - Fully Certified - 2004

Level 2 - Fully Certified - 2006

CCC - Achieved 2005

CCY - Achieved 2006

Coaching Experience:

I have coached baseball for the past 11 years, from Blast-ball to Bantam AA.  I have coached All Star Summer baseball teams, taken teams to Provincial Finals, coached Excel training and been Tadpole/Rookie and Pee Wee coordinator in the past.  I sat on the RCBA executive for a nuber of years and am familiar with the inner workings of RCBA.

I have coached boys soccer (South Arm and RYSA) for the past 10 years.   I have coached Silver and Gold select teams, finishing first in our division last year and winning various tournament play.

In both baseball and soccer, I have run evaluation sessions and been a member of the selection committee for various select teams.

Playing History:

I have played baseball and soccer for 12 years, and am familiar with the demands of the various positions and training schedules. Although, I am not currently playing, I feel that I have a strong grasp on what players need to take from practices and games to be successful.

Coaching Philosophy:

I believe in a fair play philosophy. I believe in developing a group environment and building both team and individual leadership skills. I believe that in doing so; the stronger members of the team can help to guide the development of the team. This helps to develop both physical skills as well as the mental attitude of the athletes. It has become apparent to me that the most successful sports teams are those with strong mental and emotional bonds. This allows the members of those teams to excel at competition, and brings out the best in their abilities.

The most important step in any team development is to establish a relationship between the team members. In order for a team to be successful they must have a strong bond, and be able to develop the specific skills needed for competition.

Best Regards,

Terry Dowle
