Notes:
What a way to open a season! The team blasted out of the gates and scored a quick goal within the first 2 minutes of the game as Ben Brown took a nice pass from Austin and scored. Throughout the 1st half, the teams battled back and forth as Blackburn maintained a strong presence on offense as Zach Weisman, John, Justin, Michael and Jonathan kept pressure on the other team’s defense. On the defensive side, Zach H., Patrick, Devin and Matthew were amazing as they stopped the relentless offensive pressure. And even when the other team broke through the defensive wall, Zach Neff made some diving plays to keep the score 1-0 at the half. In the 2nd half, the team scored a goal by Patrick with a pretty assist by Zach Neff as other defenders in the 1st half switched to offense led by Michael, Zach Hyman, Matthew and Devin. On the defensive side, Jon, Zach Weisman, Justin, Austin and Jonathan stopped some very strong drives by the other team’s 2 strongest players. In goal, Ben saved at least 5 shots to keep the team in the lead. Blackburn then scored an insurance goal to go up 3-1 as Patrick once again showed his nice soccer skills taking a pass from Zach Neff. The other team then scored real quick goal but Ben made some nice saves and the defense kept the score at 3-2. |
