| Game Notes: Defending State Champion Apple Valley took an early seven-run lead and later rallied to beat the Thunder, 13-10, forcing a deciding game in the District Play-offs Sunday at Alimagnet. Trailing 7-0 after one, the Thunder battled back to take a 8-7 lead into the fourth. The Twins answered with a four-run fourth and never relinquished the lead. The potent Thunder offense outhit Valley 12-8, led by multi-hit games from Spencer Pratt (2RBI), John "Rain Delay" Grotkin (3B,BB), Rookie Joel Bertelsen (BB,2B,3RS) and Casey Jacobson (3RS). Veteran Mitch Haug (SF,1B) knocked in three; James Lenz (1B) and Adam Edwinson (1B,BB,2RS) added RBI. Rookie Justin Trusty (BB) and Dan Coyle (1B) reached once each. The Thunder defense committed five errors; the pitching staff yielded ten walks and hit three Valley batters. | ||||||||||
