The Suns refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Kiel Varsity, recording an 18-1 victory on Saturday at Regner Park. The game was decided quickly as the Suns exerted its will early with 14 runs in the first two innings. An RBI double by Matt Schubert, an RBI single by Jake Perez, an RBI single by Paul Kaufmann, and a two-run single by Mitch Martin during the first inning and an RBI single by Collin Rusch, an RBI single by Luke Grefsheim, a two-run double by Mitch, an RBI double by Sam Lemke, an RBI single by Matt, and a two-run home run by Jake in the second inning fueled the Suns offense early. Jake racked up three RBIs on three hits for Suns. Mitch got the win for Suns. He allowed one run over three innings. Mitch struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits. The Suns hammered Kiel Varsity pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 14 hits, 13 RBIs and 12 runs scored. |
